A new Max Raid event featuring Gigantamax Urshifu is happening NOW in Pokemon Sword and Shield. Until June 19th at 4:59pm PDT, you'll be able to battle Gigantamax Urshifu in most 5 star raids in the Wild Area, Isle of Armor, and Crown Tundra. Unfortunately, these rare Gigantamax Pokemon are NOT catchable during this event, but they grant a collection of rare and valuable rewards upon defeat (listed below). In order to access this event, while playing Pokemon Sword or Shield, press the X button on your Nintendo Switch to open the menu, then click on "Mystery Gift". After that, select "Get the Wild Area News". Your game will then connect to the internet and the event will go live. Explore the Wild Area, Isle of Armor, or the Crown Tundra to encounter Gigantamax Urshifu in 5 star raids. Note that, while you do NOT need the Pokemon Sword and Shield DLC (sold separately) to access this event, some of the rewards, such as Max Mushrooms, Armorite/Dynite Ore, and the Apricorns require the DLC in order to be used.
